Batman logo lit up LA in honour of actor
Los Angeles was transformed into Gotham City when the Batman logo shined on the city hall in honour of the late Batman actor Adam West, who died last week.
Adam West is best known for playing Batman in the 1960s television series about the superhero in Gotham City. When the Batman projector light was shown on a building in the series, it was a signal that Batman was needed to help fight the villains of the city's underworld.
Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti, urged citizens of the American film city to pay tribute to Adam West before the logo was shown.
Adam West has also participated in the popular animated TV series 'Family Guy', where he is the voice of the Quahog mayor, who is also called Adam West.
The creators of the series will now make a special edition of 'Family Guy' to pay tribute to the actor.
Adam West died last Friday of leukemia. He became 88 years old.
