Gary Glitter, or Paul Gadd which is his real name, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison after sexual assault of three minor girls. One of them was only12 years old when the assault happened, writes Sky News.

The former glam rocker has been under investigation since 2012.

The abuse allegedly occurred in the period of 1977-1980, and the indictment include sexual insults, supply of drugs to ensure sexual intercourse and sexual intercourse with a person under 13 years.

In 2006 he was sentenced to prison in Vietnam after having sex with two girls of 11 and 12 years. He served three years - and suffered a heart attack while incarcerated.

He has also served four years in prison in England after being convicted of possession of child pornography.

Gary Glitter did not show any remorse after the verdict in London's Southwark Crown Court, writes Sky News.
