Star Trek's Spock is dead
The actor Leonard Nimoy, best known for his role as Spock in the "Star Trek" series, has died, 83 years old.

Nimoy died in his home in Bel Air in Los Angeles on Friday morning, said Nimoy's widow Susan Bay Nimoy to The New York Times.

Nimoy announced last year that he was severely affected by the lung disease COPD, which he also died from.

Leonard Nimoy was best known for his interpretation of Spock, the character with pointy ears, in the legendary sci-fi series "Star Trek."
