The terrorist group Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) threatens to send 500,000 immigrants into Europe as a "psychological weapon" against the West to wreak havoc and chaos if they are attacked, Italian press writes today.

Italian authorities have picked up the information via transcripts from different phones.

The spread of militant Islam was predicted by the deceased Libyan leader Muammar Kadhafi , who warned that the Mediterranean would be "a sea of chaos."

Interior Minister of Italy, Angelino Alfan earlier this week said that the situation in Libya has the highest priority and he insisted the international community "does not have a minute to lose."

More than 170,000 immigrants arrived to Italy by boat last year.

Just since last Friday, Italian authorities have had to save 4,000 refugees at sea.
