The artist Vanilla Ice, known for the super hit ''Ice Ice Baby'', has been arrested and charged with burglary and grand larceny in Florida.

The now 47 years old American from Dallas, Texas, was taken into custody by police in Lantana, in southern Florida, on Wednesday evening.

The singer, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, is charged with grand larceny for stealing a number of items from an uninhabited house between December and February.

The 47-year-old has been questioned by police in Lantana, who is stating that furniture, bicycles, a heater to the pool and several other things were among the stolen items. Police have now confiscated the loot which belongs to the owner of the house.

The rapper was behind the super hit "Ice Ice Baby" from 1990, which was the first hip-hop song that topped the Billboard list. Since then, the American have struggled to return to the limelight, despite strenuous efforts in reality TV programs.
