At least 26 policemen were killed in several coordinated attacks in Sinai Thursday by a group claiming to be ISIS. The attacks makes an impression on Egyptians and increases support for President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
The attacks in Sinai has increased in strength. Jihadists want to start more fires: Sinai, Libya, Sahel, Somalia, Kenya, Nigeria, Mali, Cameroon, Niger - so that "firemen" are not able to extinguish.
One point of attack was Rafah, the border town to Gaza. The conditions for the Palestinians will not be better after this.
Sinai has been subject to a state of emergency since October, when terrorists killed 31 soldiers.
Jihadists are smuggling weapons to Gaza. A lawless Sinai is therefore also a threat to Israel. ISIS is now in Gaza, and Hamas are perplexed about how to handle it.
