Hostage situation at a post office in Paris
Three people have been taken hostage by an unknown gunman at a post office in Colombes, a northwest suburb of Paris, French media reported.

The gunman is armed with a Kalashnikov rifle, French RTL radio reports. He is holding from two to five people hostage, Le Figaro reports, citing police sources.

It is not yet clear if the incident is connected with last week’s Paris shootings that left 17 people dead, including journalists and police officers.

RTL adds that the gunman is known to police as a petty crime suspect. Law enforcers are expected to start negotiations with the assailant soon.
