Denmark just got another party in the political landscape. The party is called 'Nationalpartiet`(National Party) and behind it are three brothers of Pakistani origin.
The National Party's logo is a Danish flag, and in italics under the party name it says; "We are Denmark". But even if the logo resembles the Danish People's Party's (DF) logo, the party's policy is a direct response to the shift towards the right in Danish politics, as National Party Chairman, Kashif Ahmad, said that DF stands for.
More and more parties will turn right in the immigration debate. This is the main reason why the new party National Party now sees the light of day, Ahmed says.
- The progress, which has been in Denmark policy for many years, is now so perverse and so un-Danish. There is a trend towards the right, where more and more parties are queuing up to join the most extreme opinions and austerity - most recently with refugees. We believe that there is a need for the coming of a new party who do not play by those rules, which have so far been set up, but benefit the larger community, and the greater purpose we have, namely that it is the benefit of Denmark, Kashif Ahmad said to tv2.dk.
He was elected to the municipal council for Hvidovre in 2013 In 2014 but he quit to start the National Party along with his two brothers Aamer and Asif.
Khasif Ahmad find that the Danish values that his parents met when they came to Denmark many years ago, no longer exist.
- People were open and respectful. We have a very hard time recognizing the values, despite the fact that we feel Danish. The policy has led to who is to blame for it not working. It is very un-Danish, he says.
Khasif Ahmad is not afraid of the fact that several newly founded parties have failed in their ambition to gain influence in the political system.
- We are already represented in 25 cities, and as soon as it is launched, we are going to talk to people and meet people, and shake their hands, and ask them to support it, which is for the better cause than all of us - namely the common Denmark.
The National Party, has the ambition of entering Parliament as soon as possible.
This may be the way democracy ends and Sharia starts, as Sharia is what the future will bring with this and similar parties - parties for Muslims by Muslims.
