Inger Støjberg, the brave Danish Minister for Immigration, Integration and Housing, today wrote a 'controversial' post on her Facebook page, where she displays her iPad background: Kurt Westergaard's famous Muhammed drawing, which created world wide outrage in the Muslim world when the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten published it and others in 2005.

She writes:

The Muhammad drawings with Kurt Westergaard in the forefront have been defining Denmark as the free society we are. They show that we are a free country where opinions are discussed and you can say what you want and criticize who you want. They have had a huge impact on our self-understanding, our struggle to create democracy in the world through our activist foreign policy, where our soldiers fight side by side with our allies to create free communities. It's a shame when the Skovgaard Museum in Viborg fails to exhibit just those in their large-scale exhibition about blasphemy since the Reformation. It is the museum's choice, and they have their full right to so, but I think it's a shame.

I myself have Kurt Westergaard's famous drawing as my background screen on my iPad. I have it because I love Denmark. I simply love the foundation of freedoms that generations before us have laid and on which our country is founded. Freedoms that mean that here we can believe in exactly the God we want, we have freedom of speech, so that we can say - and draw - what we believe in, and here there is complete gender equality.

I honestly think we should be proud of the Muhammad drawings!
