Some 20 people have been involved in a mass brawl at a refugee center in Västervik.

One person has been taken to hospital.

- It's a mess. There are both old and young who have fought, says Fredrik Bratt, police press officer, to Aftonbladet.

Several police patrols were called to an address in Gamleby in Västerby on Saturday afternoon, after an alarm about a brawl between some 20 people at a refugee center.

A number of persons have been injured and one had to go to hospital with ambulance. According to initial information, weapons have been involved in the fighting.

- I still do not know anything about the injury situation, says Bratt.

What has caused the altercation is still unclear. Police are still investigating this. No one had been arrested at 16.00 on Saturday.

- According to the internal chain of command, it seems the gravest crime will be aggravated assault, says Fredrik Bratt.
