A 19-year-old asylum seeker, who has admitted to a murder in Arboga, was by his 42-year-old Swedish girlfriend promised a future in Sweden, if he just murdered her parents, says a police source to SVT Västmanland. The couple met at an accommodation for unaccompanied refugee children, where the 19-year-old lived, and where the 42-year-old was working. After a few weeks they became a couple.
On August 3, 2016, a 68-year-old man was found murdered at his summer house outside Arboga. His wife, who was seriously injured, was first suspected of murdering her husband, but suspicions since fell on the couple's daughter, the 42-year-old woman.
The woman had promised the 23 years younger 19-year-old boyfriend marriage, and thereby increased chances of getting a residence permit. If he only murdered her parents, which he has pleaded guilty to having done.
According to the 19-year-old's lawyer, Lars Jähresten, he is deeply regretful and during interrogation he has been very cooperative.
After the murder, the boyfriend threw the weapon - a knife - in a stream in Eskilstuna, he told police.
- We have not found it yet, despite repeated searches by divers, said a police source.
According to a psychiatric evaluation conducted of the 19-year-old man and 42-year-old woman, it is suspected that both suffer from serious mental disorders.
According to the 19-year-old, he has no strong emotional ties to the 42-year-old woman, instead he has feelings for another woman in his home country.
The reason why the 42-year-old wanted her parents murdered is still unclear, and speculations have been from economic motives to a quarrel, writes SVT Västmanland.
The 42-year-old woman is not only suspected of involvement in the murder of her father and the attempted murder of her mother. She is also believed to be behind the murder of her former husband, who was found dead in Hjalmaren in August 2015. A 25-year-old man, an acquaintance of the woman, is arrested for the murder of her deceased husband.
The woman is also suspected of conspiracy to murder in several other cases. According to a police source, the woman has previously tried to persuade other people to commit murder for her. Among others, former business associates have been on the 42-year-old woman's death list, says a police source to SVT Västmanland.
