Three teenagers have been charged after police found several Kalashnikov assault rifles in the trunk of a taxi in Stockholm.

The teenagers loaded five AK47 Kalashnikov assault rifles into the trunk of a taxi in southern Stockholm. But what they did not know, was that the police noticed them, writes Dagens Nyheter.

- The police followed the taxi and stopped it in Bromma. The bags were then in the trunk of the taxi. The fact that it is a case of several powerful military weapons, makes me believe that the weapons offense should be classified as very serious, prosecutor Alexandra Bittner told the newspaper.

The teenagers, who are aged 17-19 years, have now been charged.
