Facebook plans to deal with 'fake news' by working with self-appointed guru on hoaxes and fake news Snopes, ABC News and the Associated Press. Also sharing from groups on Facebook has changed.
Facebook Inc said on Thursday it will roll out a number of new tools to prevent fake news stories from spreading on the social media network, reports FOX Business.
The company will make it easier for users to flag fake articles on their News Feed, and will also work with organizations such as fact-checking website Snopes, ABC News and the Associated Press to check the authenticity of stories.
Facebook said that if the fact-checking organizations identify a story as fake, it will get flagged as "disputed" and there will be a link to the corresponding article explaining why.
The company said disputed stories may appear lower in its news feed, adding that once a story is flagged, it cannot be promoted.
Snopes has on several occasions been caught twisting the truth or plain out lying, and their agenda is widely seen as (far)left.
According to the Daily Caller, Snopes’ main political fact-checker is a liberal writer named Kim Lacapria. Before writing for Snopes, Lacapria wrote for Inquisitr, a blog that — oddly enough — is known for publishing fake quotes and even downright hoaxes as much as anything else.
"Snopes flagrantly lied about the lack of visible American flags on the first day of the Democratic Convention, claiming an image from the second day of the convention was actually from the first day in an attempt to debunk a factual story from The Daily Caller."
"But Lacapria simply joins the very small crew at Snopes who have existed as bias from the start. David and Barbara Mikkelson, the founders and proprietors of Snopes, have been found on many occasions to have “erred” on the side of the truth best benefiting the Left’s narrative on issues. The very fact the website quotes heavily from the self-identified Left-leaning New York Times illustrates an out-of-the-box bias from the start."
Satire sites are most definitely heading for a dark pit in Facebook jail, never to be shared again, Mohammad or no Mohammad, the Pope endorsing Trump or not, or that chocolate makes a slim body, which mainstream media posted as real news:
READ: He tricked millions into believing that chocolate makes you slim
Oh, and by the way, the mainstream media that posted false polls saying that Clinton without a doubt would win the election, like they were similarly wrong before Brexit, are those who are now trusted to decide who are bluffing.
While those, including this site, who posted news that actually were true, now risk going to the dark Fb-jailhouse pit because of content that conflicts with an increasingly more obvious agenda of silencing free speech and let mainstream media back in the driver's seat instead of alternative media, where the truth often lies. Sad. As reported:
IBD: Donald Trump to win the election
Facebook has also introduced that if you share from a closed group, the group privacy is attached to the post, meaning that only members of the particular group are able to see the post on your personal wall if it is from a closed or secret group. And since this applies to all groups, only posts from open groups are now visible to all your friends.
But they didn't tell you, so sharing from a closed group is in vain at the moment. You'll have to right-click the link and post it as a new status to make it visible to all your friends if it was found in a secret or closed group, or it will just turn invisible to most.
So if you want to share this to let others know of the almost invisible change, so that they post to all their friends instead of just group members, you are encouraged to copy the link, not share it from a secret or closed group.
