The state of Florida is right now preparing for the largest mass evacuation ever made, says the state's Governor Rick Scott to local media.
Two million people may need to flee from hurricane Matthew, that is currently increasing in intensity as it moves over the Bahamas towards Florida.
- When we look at how the storm moves along the east coast we must prepare each municipality. It may be the largest evacuation ever, said Scott.
At a press conference Scott several times urged the population to take the hurricane seriously.
- Evacuate, evacuate, evacuate! he said.
The reason is that the hurricane is expected to pull into the mainland, and then follow the coast and turn back out over the Atlantic again.
Judging by videos posted on social media it seems many Floridians have follow the authorities' requests. Long caravans show that people evacuate the coast and the inland.
