A Chinese man has confessed that he is the one that has killed 19 people in a village after an argument with his parents about money, writes several Chinese media, according to the BT.

The perpetrator, Yang Qingpei, told police that he murdered his parents after he had returned to his village Yema in the mountainous province of Yunnan.

He had demanded to get money from his parents, the news agency Xinhua writes.

After beating his parents to death, he tried to cover up his crime by getting rid of all witnesses; 17 neighbors, including several children.

They were all found dead Thursday morning in their homes. The youngest of the victims were three years old, the oldest 72 years old.

The perpetrator is born in 1998.

In an online video, one can see heavily armed policemen in the streets of the village, while a young man in jeans is lying on the ground in handcuffs.
