A 15-year-old boy was on Monday arrested for having planned a massacre in Germany. He was arrested in Ludwigsburg in the state of Baden-Wurttemberg.

Police found ammunition, knives and chemicals when they raided the boy's home.

In addition to ammunition, knives and chemicals, police also found instructions for making bombs, said German police.

According to a source involved in the investigation, the boy had been in contact with the 18-year-old Muslim man, Ali Sonboly, who killed nine people in Munich last Friday.

Police believe, however, that the 15-year-old didn't knew about Sonbolys plans.

The 15-year-old is sent to a psychiatric institution, police said.
