German police say the shooter entered the University Clinic, in the Steglitz District of Berlin, at around 11am before opening fire on a medic, reports the Daily Star.
Newspaper Bild is reporting the gunman killed himself, but it is unclear what injuries the doctor suffered.
Police have not yet given any further details.
A spokeswoman for the Benjamin Franklin campus of the Charite University Hospital also declined to comment at this stage.
