FBI Director James Comey admits that he fears hackers and thus takes simple precautions.

A growing number of people have begun to put a piece of tape over the camera of their laptop or iPad. The reason is an increased fear of hackers with malicious intent who may hack into the computer and monitor them.

Now even the head of the FBI, director of the US federal police, James Comey, has revealed that he puts tape over his webcam.

"I saw something in the news, so I copied it. I put a piece of tape — I have obviously a laptop, personal laptop — I put a piece of tape over the camera. Because I saw somebody smarter than I am had a piece of tape over their camera."

The most common way for hackers to gain access to your computer is to trick you into clicking on an attachment of an e-mail, which is infested with a virus and thus installs a program on the computer, or one has physical access to the computer and can insert a USB memory stick with the virus.
