United confirms: Mourinho is the new manager
As expected, Manchester United confirmed today that José Mourinho has been hired as the new manager for the English football club.

Thus one of the world's richest clubs has hired one of the world's most successful and outspoken managers.

- José is quite simply the best manager in football now. He has won trophies and inspired players in countries across Europe. In addition, he knows of course the Premier League very well and he has won three titles here, said United Director Ed Woodward to the club's website.

- I would like to welcome him. His merit list is ideal in order to develop the club further, he adds.

Mourinho, who has won the Champions League with both Porto and Inter, has signed a three-year contract with United. The agreement, according to British media, has a value of between 10 and 15 million pounds per season.

In addition come extra bonuses if Mourinho leads United to win the Premier league or the Champions League.

- It is a very special honor to be the manager of Manchester United. This is a club that is known and admired throughout the world. There is mystery and love around it, which no other club can match, says the Portuguese.

- I've always felt an affinity for Old Trafford. Some of the most important memories of my career I have from there, he adds.
