Donald Trump does not think he will get a good relationship with the British Prime Minister David Cameron, who has called Trump's proposal to ban Muslims from the US as "idiotic".
- Honestly, I don’t care, it doesn’t matter. It looks like we’re not going to have a very good relationship. I hope to have a good relationship with him, but it sounds like he’s not willing to address the problem either., said Trump in an interview with the British television channel ITV.
Earlier this year, Cameron said that Trump's proposal to refuse all Muslims entry into the US was "divisive, idiotic and downright wrong" and he has since refused to denounce the comment.
On Monday the Prime Minister's office in Downing Street repeated that Cameron has said clearly what he thinks about the matter.
USA is Britain's closest ally, and politicians in both countries have always talked about the special relationship between Britain and America.
Trump has previously claimed that parts of London are "so radicalized that the police are afraid of their own lives." The assertion was called ridiculous by London's former mayor, Boris Johnson.
In Monday's interview, Trump also criticized the newly elected mayor Sadiq Khan, who he said has made rude comments about him.
Khan stated that Trump's plan to ban Muslims from the US is showing his "ignorant view of Islam" and could make both countries less safe by "offending ordinary Muslims."
Trump challenged Khan to “take an IQ test” after the mayor called him ignorant.
