Prince is dead
The US celebrity website TMZ reports that the artist Prince (57) is dead.

He was found dead at his property in Minnesota early Thursday morning, writes TMZ.

The celebrity website has confirmation from several sources of the artist's death.

Prince, whose full name is Prince Rogers Nelson, became ill on April 15. His private jet had to make an emergency landing then.

The following day he appeared at a concert and reassured his fans that he was in good health. His representative also said to TMZ that he only had the flu.

He has received seven Grammy Awards
since he broke through as an international artist in 1982, under the artist name "Prince", when he released the album "1999".

After that he has had a number of hits and has been awarded seven Grammys.
