Norway could become the new Greece, the new way into Europe for migrants and refugees, only rubber dinghies are replaced with bicycles.

Leader of the Conservative Party in Finnmark, Jo Inge Hesjevik, fears that Norway will become like Greece.

- If everyone coming to Russia can take the train to Storskog and sign up as a refugee in Norway, it will be an easier way into Europe than crossing the Mediterranean to Greece, as today, says Hesjevik.

The Norwegian government has been sharply criticized for sending asylum seekers back to Russia. Many national and international organizations believe Russia is not a safe country to return asylum seekers to, including the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Foreign Minister Børge Brende said on January 24 that he expects all of the around 700 asylum seekers who have either asylum in Russia, Russian multi visa or Russian citizenship, to be deported back to neighboring Russia.

However, it is still uncertain whether Norway will accept the premise or not, that Russia is not a safe country to send asylum seekers back to. Then migrants will not be returned to Russia if they are able to bicycle across the border to wealthy Norway to claim asylum.

- If that happens, Storskog will be the main road into Europe and 100,000 refugees a month may not even be a high figure, says Jo Inge Hesjevik, to NRK.

According to Russian law, it is prohibited to walk across the border to Norway, and migrants therefore have to bicycle. The bicycles are tossed away immediately when "safe" on Norwegian ground.

Apparently, and extremely strange, there has been very little information about the obviously brutal ongoing war in Russia, which is so bloody that "refugees" cannot be returned.
