The President of the United States, Barack Obama, has inaugurated the new museum on the site of the 9/11 attacks, calling it a 'a sacred place of healing and of hope'.
Thousands of survivors, rescuers and families that lost love ones on September 11 were present in the huge 'Foundation Hall' of the underground museum, as Obama spoke. The museum was built on the same grounds as the World Trade Center in Manhattan (today Ground Zero).
