At least one of the terrorists who blew themselves up outside the Stade de France - respectively 21.20, 21.30 and 21.53 on Friday - had a ticket to the match, which took place between France and Germany, says one of the security guards at the stadium, and French policemen, to the Wall Street Journal.

At least three people were killed outside the cafes Events and Coeur de Blé, located next to the stadium. But one of the suicide bombers was planning to go into the stadium, according to the security personnel.

There were, in addition to several of the world's most famous football players on the pitch - a total of 80,000 people on the stands.

The terrorist arrived at the Stadium and tried to enter the stadium about fifteen minutes into the match. But the guards discovered that the man was wearing a bomb vest.

When he tried to run away from the guards he detonated the vest, according to a security guard. Police officers who were also guarding the stadium confirm the information and say they assume that the man intended to detonate the vest inside the stadium to create panic.

The failed attempt to get into the stadion could be an explanation for why the death toll is not even higher. A total of 127 people were killed in the horrific attacks in Paris - but only three of them died just outside the Stade de France.

Two explosions could be heard during the match. After the game, thousands of spectators gathered on the pitch. Friday's coordinated terrorist attacks also created great fear inside the Stade de France.
