The Danish Security Service (PET) confirmed Wednesday that the 25-year-old who stabbed a police officer at a reception center in Sandholm in Denmark on Tuesday, is the same man who attacked the Swedish Minister of Justice - and Migration Minister, Morgan Johansson, with a fire extinguisher in March.
The Danish policeman was seriously injured after being stabbed in the neck and shoulder. The attack occurred in Denmark's largest reception center, in Sandholm, on Tuesday.
The incident is being investigated as attempted murder, writes The Local.
The 25-year-old Palestinian asylum seeker is awaiting deportation from Denmark after his application for asylum has been rejected.
PET has issued a press release in which they stated that they had 25-year-old under supervision, because of potential IS sympathies.
- PET had prior to the knife assault, knowledge of the suspect, and has been informed that the man could possibly be mentally unstable, desired to travel to Syria or Iraq, that he possibly was radicalized and sympathizes with IS, writes PET in the press release.
The attack against the Swedish Minister happened on March 23, and occurred when the Minister was on a visit to a refugee reception center in Kristianstad in Skåne.
The 25-year-old got hold of a fire extinguisher which he used to spray the Minister with foam, before he was brought down by security guards.
