A new wave of violence has arisen east of Ukraine, between pro-Russian rebels and Ukrainian forces.
In a statement Wednesday NATO says that member countries have discussed the situation and stressed that all parties must contribute to ease the conflict.
- Russia has a special responsibility for finding a political solution. Attempts by Russian-supported separatists to take over areas will not be accepted by the outside world, said NATO spokesperson Carmen Romero in a statement.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has on the other hand accused the Ukrainian authorities of being behind the recent escalation of the fighting east of the country.

Germany: Asylum seekers linked to 69,000 crimes - in just three months
Migrants in Germany committed or tried to commit some 69,000 crimes in the first quarter of 2016, according to a police report.
