The captain on a flight from Stockholm to Gideå, east of Sweden took matters into his own hands when a drunk passenger refused to leave the toilet before landing.
The other passengers were witnesses to that the captain took out an ax and hit the door open, the news agency TT reports.
The reason was that there were only ten minutes left until landing and passengers, for safety reasons, may not stay in the toilet.
After the man was escorted to his seat, and the seat belt was fastened, the aircraft could land as normal.
The man was taken care of by the airport police and handed over to his wife.
He is suspected of breaching the Aviation Act, and will be questioned when he is sober, according to Sveriges Radio.
