The Islamic state, IS, has released a new video where they threaten the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and call for German-speaking Muslims to kill ''infidels''.

The video has been recorded in the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra, which has been taken by the terrorist organization, writes the German magazine Focus.

The two bearded men appearing in the clip turns to their "brothers and sisters" in Germany and Austria with the invitation to join the IS. Those who are unable to do so can instead focus on "destroying all infidels" in the European countries they live in, the terrorists say in the video.

One of the Islamists also says that the organization is determined to get revenge on Merkel for Germany's participation in operations against the Islamic state.

The video is the first IS-video released in German.

Over 450 German citizens are estimated to have travelled to the Arab world to fight for the Islamic state.
