Two distilleries in southwestern China are at the moment under investigation. Police said they have mixed the active ingredient in Viagra in their products, writes Reuters.

More specifically, the distilleries Guikun and Deshun, which is based in the city of Liuzhou, added the substance of sildenafil in three of its baijiu (Chinese schnapps) products, according to authorities.

5357 baijiu bottles have now been seized, along with over a ton of pure alcohol and an amount of white powder with the tag "sildenafil". The seized products have a value of approximately 97,000 USD.

The "Viagra-schnapps", according to the distilleries' ads has a "healthy effect".

China has a big problem with food safety, with large amounts of unauthorized and toxic food on the market. Only in June Customs seized food for almost 490 Million USD - some of the food was over 40 years old.

In 2013 the police revealed a league that earned big money by selling rat meat disguised as sheep.
