Biden to challenge Clinton
US Vice President Joe Biden is joining the presidential campaign to challenge Hillary Clinton, according to the New York Times.

Bidens advisers have been in touch with both Democrat leaders and potential contributors who have not yet endorsed Clinton.

"The talks, often conducted by Bidens Chief of Staff Steve Ricchetti, has taken place in hushed phone calls or under low-key lunches. In most cases, they have come in the wake of the flood of sympathy for the vice president since his 46-year-old son Beau died in May, "writes the newspaper.

Meanwhile, the newspaper's political commentator Maureen Dowd, writes that Ricchetti met potential contributors several months ago, even before Beau Biden died.

Both Beau and Bidens second son, Hunter, urged their father to run for president.

Neither Ricchetti or Clinton's staff wanted to comment on the matter.
