Gases from an active underwater volcano in the Caribbean Sea can sink ships, which are now being asked to stay several kilometers away.

The gases may cause that the water density is reduced, which can make ships sink due to less buoyant.

Ships are now asked to remain at least 5 kilometers away from the volcano, which is located 8 kilometers north of the island of Grenada.
