An angry bear put fear in a family with three children when it went off at a summer cottage in the Kuusamo region in eastern Finland.

The cottage for some reason aroused the 70-kilogram male bear's interest on Monday night. The animal smashed things on the cottage porch and tried to climb up the wall, while the family was in the house.

Police tried using dogs and shot in the air to chase the bear away. When it failed, it was shot dead.

According to police, the bear seems to have been ill, including broken and rotten teeth.
