Celebrities are exploiting the Greek debt crisis
Greece will probably have to sell islands to get rid of debt.

Several media reports that Johnny Depp is the latest in a series of celebrities and millionaires who have exploited the debt crisis in Greece, and secured himself a small private island, writes AFP Relax News.

According to Athens Macedonian News Agency, Depp have bought part of a small uninhabited island in the Aegean for 4.2 million euros.

In June it was announced that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie-Pitt was interested in buying property on Gaia Islands.

One of the requirements Greece must fulfill in order to secure new emergency loans, is that the government must dispose of assets worth 50 million euros.

One possibility is to sell off property on uninhabited Greek islands. Thus, it is likely that several celebrities and millionaires will ensure private islands at bargain prices, according to AFP Relax News.
