A photo of Norwegian bicycle cops is being shared in social media, both in Norway and in several other countries. The picture shows muscular policemen wearing shiny bike shorts, and it gets a lot of attention from both women and men.
"Where are these guys on patrol? I think I have to be bad "... one user writes on the website Pinterest.
"We need to get that kind of cops here in the US," writes a Twitter user from Colorado.
"I'm not sure how I would have reacted if I was stopped by these guys," a woman writes on Reddit.
However, the photo they refer to is not a completely accurate representation of reality. It has been manipulated. The body shape and uniforms are retouched - by a man in the Netherlands.
- It was meant as a joke which I wanted to share with my private Facebook friends. But the picture was suddenly shared in a large scale, and now I see it everywhere online, says Ion, who just want us to use his first name, to the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet.
He says he has heard from his friends that they now have an "additional reasons" to go to Norway. He believes that he has just "emphasized and enhanced features of what already is sexy policemen."
It is not only the manipulated version of the image that is shared online. Also the original image is very popular, especially the tight uniforms make heads turn.
The image was originally taken by the Finnish photographer Toni Kaarttinen, when he was vacationing in Oslo in 2010.
- It was the uniforms that made me chose to take picture. I have never seen such uniforms on Finnish police, says Toni Kaarttinen to Dagbladet.
