A bus with 34 British children crashed on a highway in Belgium on Sunday. At least one person is dead, according to Belgian media.

There were two drivers on board. The condition is critical for the driver who drove the bus when the accident occurred. The man who was killed, is described as the second driver.

Photos showed on Sunday morning that children were still stuck inside the bus, but later it became clear that no one was seriously injured. The children are aged 11-13 years, and some of them suffered minor injuries.

The bus overturned on the European route E40, and was lying on its side. According to eyewitnesses the bus crashed into a pole after the driver lost control of the bus.

The accident occurred just off Flanders. The highway leads to the tunnel of the English Channel and several harbors with ferries to Britain.
