Former FIFA top with sharp criticism of Blatter
No one has brought more shame on FIFA than Sepp Blatter, former vice president Jack Warner says.

Warner, who is accused of having received bribes when vice president, was on Monday released from prison in Trinidad and Tobago.

The 72-year-old has been jailed in connection with the FBI-led investigation against several current and former FIFA-tops.

- Why isn't there someone who initiates investigations in Asia or in Europe? asks Warner in an interview with the German magazine Stern, on Monday.

- Why is there no one who is investigating Sepp Blatter? No other person has brought so much shame on FIFA, he adds.

Warner is one of nine FIFA-tops and five business leaders who are accused of corruption by the US judicial authorities.

When asked directly whether he believes that the 79 year old Blatter is corrupt, Warner responds:

- I only know this: He has been elected as FIFA chief for the fifth time in a row. If he is corrupt? I do not know.

Warner is now asking Blatter to resign and let younger people take over.

- If I was his age, I would leave the presidency to someone younger, but everyone has different plans for their lives, he said.
