Murray was David Letterman's first guest - and he is also his last.
When David Letterman (67) takes the chair as presenter for the last show to be aired on May19, it is Bill Murray's 44 visit to Letterman. Also Tom Hanks and Eddie Vedder is expected to participate in the show.
The last show, on 20 May, will be full of surprises and highlights, Letterman says.
After having hosted the "Late Show" for 22 years, David Letterman now signs off. The popular talk show host quits the show, which is being recorded in the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York.
Letterman started with "Late Tonight" on NBC in 1982, but then took the show to CBS in 1993.
