For nearly ten years, the Chinese government has worked to end the trend of hiring strippers to funerals.
The phenomenon, which started around 2006, is considered to be very offensive, the authorities believe.
Now put the government wants to combat the trend even more by cooperating with the police in the country, writes the Wall Street Journal China Blog.
Pictures from a funeral in the Chinese city of Handan were quickly spread online in March. The pictures show a stripper who takes off her bra, in front of children who were present at the funeral.
In this funeral six strippers came to dance erotic dances in honor of the deceased.
The investigation showed that the entertainment violated safety rules. The person responsible for the strippers was detained for 15 days and fined.
Funerals in China has a tradition to gather family and friends who do not see each other often. Many work far away and rarely comes home. Previously it has been customary with Chinese opera as a form of entertainment, while in recent times, showing films has taken over.
However, the phenomenon of striptease at funerals has spread in the eastern part of the world.
